Albert Marquet

Albert Marquet was a French painter born in 1875 in Bordeaux, France. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and became a member of the Fauvist movement, which emphasized the use of bold colors and brushstrokes in paintings. Marquet is known for his urban landscapes and seascapes, often depicting the bustling harbor scenes of Paris and other coastal cities. He traveled extensively throughout his career, visiting North Africa, the Mediterranean, and the United States. Marquet died in 1947 in Paris.
